Description
In II Timothy 3 the apostle Paul listed sins that would be prevalent in the “last days” and would bring about “perilous times.” In the middle of that list stands “unthankful” (vs. 2). Whether in the last days or at any other time, ingratitude displeases the generous God who has bountifully blessed mankind.
In A Season of Thanksgiving, Dr. Shelton Smith recounts the history of Thanksgiving in our nation, showing how even government leaders have called on our people to offer prayers of gratitude to our Benefactor who has raised us to a leading position in world affairs. And then we see the consequences that our growing unthankfulness has had on our society.
At this time which we set aside to acknowledge our blessings, Dr. Smith gives an extensive list of things for which he is grateful, and for which all believers should thank God. We are encouraged to make the Thanksgiving season A Season of Thanksgiving.
