Description

"Let me say at the outset that the way you judge whether or not certain music is good or bad has nothing to do with whether or not you like it. Just because it "sounds good" to you does not nesessarily mean it is good for you. Let me illustrate with a question. How many different kinds, styles, or types of music are there? Do all people appreciate the same kind of music? Ten different individuals can prefer ten different styles of music, and all maintain that their kind is the best. But we know that they are only giving their personal opinion...The point I am making is that something so subject to change as musical taste is not a dependable method of determining the moral value of music. There must be a higher standard." -from the Introduction by the author.
