Description
Grades 7 - 12
Critical thinking skills are incredibly important as we move through the world, take upper-level classes, and create our own reasoned arguments. Practice analyzing a variety of arguments in this court as you learn about fact & opinion, ambiguity & descriptions, valid & invalid arguments, arguments based on claims, categorical syllogisms, inductive arguments, and informal fallacies. Following the adventures of Dr. Stephanie Wise as she examines the cases of the LAPD, students will learn to build the principles involved in making an informed decision. As they work their way through the book, students will be exposed to logical arguments using p & q, Venn diagrams, Boolean and Aristotelian squares of opposition, syllogisms, and other methods used to determine the merits of arguments.
