Higher Ground (2001) CD

For the first time, these two gentlemen get together to perform some fine gospel music. Both known for their musical ability and commitment to the gospel, Paul Williams and Cliff Waldron seem like a natural choice for some fine duet work. Williams and Waldron are helped here by Billy Wheeler on banjo, Mike Auldridge on dobro, Pat White on fiddle, and Steve Spence on bass (with Sally Jones supplying lovely harmony vocals on 3 numbers as well). Highlights include the unaccompanied “He Whispers Sweet Peace to Me” and old-style mandolin/guitar duets like “Where Will You Build.”
