Description

Teaching the Classics, 2nd Edition will teach you how to study literature by focusing on the important elements of literature: literary analysis, style & content, setting, characters, conflict & plot, and theme. This workbook is designed to be used with the Teaching the Classics DVDs (which are sold-separately) and is set up so that students watch the DVD sessions and take notes in the spaces provided.

For teachers, the back of the book includes a lesson plan schedule; usually students are assigned readings with two to three discussions following the reading. These are followed by a writing exercise - various suggestions for the grammar, logic, and rhetoric-levels are provided. A suggested reading list is also included in the back of the book.

This second edition workbook features line-by-line explanations of each question on the Socratic list of 173 graded discussion questions for use with any story; expanded lists of literary devices, definitions, and recommended reading; and additional discussion of writing, lesson planning, and scope & sequence issues.

119 pages, softcover, spiral-bound. 2nd Edition. For use with all ages.
