Welcome to The Lost Tools of Writing: Comparison Essay. This semester-long course enables students to practice basic thinking skills through a new form of essay. Through Comparison Essay, students will build on the foundations laid in The Lost Tools of Writing, Level 1, develop deeper thinking skills, master an additional form of essay-writing, and delve more deeply into analogical thinking with different kinds of metaphor-writing. The skills students gain through Comparison Essay extend beyond academies to life in the world, cultivating more refinded and careful thinking about people, things, ideas, and even their own decisions.
The Lost Tools of Writing: Comparison Essay expands the foundational skills covered in The Lost Tools of Writing, Level 1 with a focus on the common topic of comparison. Designed to precede Level 2 and Level 3, it provides an option for review and practice in writing a different type of essay. The book includes material for both student and teacher.
